Based in Sichuan Province, this gap-year program introduces students to the rich cultures, ethnic diversity, incredible cuisine, and dramatic landscapes of southwestern China. GlobalQuest
GlobalQuest offers 12-week fall and spring semester study programs in Thailand for high school seniors, students deferring college for a semester or a year, and for college students. Each cluster is for 12 students and 3 teachers. Study takes place throughout Thailand and includes an individual research project, Thai language, natural history and environmental issues, culture, a homestay, and service.
India: Varanasi and the Ganges
This program is based in Varanasi, India's holiest city. Students live with families, study Hindi, meet cultural leaders, and volunteer in service projects. During the second month, they visit important pilgrimage sites along the Ganges and trek to its source in the Himalayas. They finish the semester in Varanasi with independent study projects.
