Volunteer to Teach Indigenous Children in Honduras
This teaching and community program takes volunteers to the cobbled streets of Copán Ruinas, Honduras, to help with vital volunteer work while they learn Spanish. Whilst education is free in Honduras, the necessary materials are not, so GVI have joined with indigenous leaders to help provide teaching and educational programs to those adults and children who would not normally be able to afford to attend. The volunteer program comes with 40 hours of intense language lessons and a variety of activities, which includes going on a guided tour of the fantastic archaeological ruins at Copán, as well as going on horse riding and hiking treks. Yet, perhaps best of all, a significant financial donation is given to the project as a result of your volunteering.

Volunteer on a Community Construction Project in Honduras
Join a short-term volunteer program in the ancient colonial town of Copán Ruinas in Honduras to work with nearby indigenous communities and help alleviate poverty by constructing energy-efficient stoves. Health problems relating to indoor air pollution from things like cooking stoves cause more deaths each year than either Malaria or AIDS, though doesn’t receive anywhere near the amount of international concern. An efficient stove of the manner installed here can add 10-15 years to the life expectancy of the family members inhabiting the house. Learn Spanish while you are there, with 10 hours of lessons included, as well as a guided adventure to one of the local attractions. In just a week, you can make all the difference to an indigenous family.
